8 Must-Know Tips for Lazy Vegans

Being vegan doesn’t have to be a complicated mess of unpronounceable ingredients and 20 step recipes. That’s why I created this list of must-have lazy vegan tips.

So say goodbye to the aquafabas and seitans of the vegan world, and say hello to these 8 vegan tips that make being vegan a little easier. Because who doesn’t love a good life hack?

1. Make Simple Recipes

My first vegan tip has to be to find and perfect easy vegan recipes. Not all vegan recipes are 50 ingredients long. You can find simple recipes with minimal ingredients made in very little time that are just as delicious as their Gordon Ramsay counterparts.

2. Keep Frozen Meals on Hand

Similarly, stocking up on a few of your favorite frozen meals is always a good idea. These are great to have on hand if you can’t be bothered to cook that day. You can also keep other quick meals on hand such as soup, rice, beans, or oatmeal.

3. Throw Out Food Rules

Who says you can’t eat tofu with pasta, or popcorn and pickles, or any other weird food combination? Throwing out food rules or mixing cuisines can save you a lot of time and stress if you ever find yourself with a bare pantry.

4. Eat Easy “Superfoods”

I classify superfoods as a food or ingredient that is nutrient dense. This includes: hemp hearts; nutritional yeast; chia seeds; flax seeds; and protein powder.

What do all these foods have in common? They can be easily be incorporated into meals to help bump up the nutrient content. They’re like the life hacks of the cooking world.

For example, just adding 2 tablespoons of nutritional yeast to a dish adds 10 grams of protein! These ingredients can be an easy way to get all the important nutrients that you need as a vegan.

5. Take Gummy Vitamins Instead of Pills

Hopefully you know the importance of vitamins and supplements on a vegan diet. (If not check out my guide to vegan vitamins here).

A great way to keep on track with your vitamins is to switch out a pill for a gummy version. And I don’t know about you, but I am way more likely to remember to take my medications if they actually taste good.

6. Buy Groceries Online

Skip the lines and get vegan products sent right to your door. There are tons of online vegan grocery stores like Vegan Essentials, where you can try out the best vegan junk food products without ever going to the store.

Likewise, you can also make use of vegan meal delivery services like Veestro, Purple Carrot, or Daily Harvest, and get meals sent right to your doorstep.

7. Download an App

Thanks to the ever-growing interest of veganism in the digital age, there are tons of helpful vegan apps you can download right onto your phone. In fact, I did a whole blog post about it! Check out my post on 8 must-have vegan apps here.

8. Listen to Vegan Podcasts

Lastly, podcasts make the perfect media outlet for the lazy vegan. Just throw one on while doing chores around the house, or make it apart of your nighttime routine.

And unlike books, you don’t have to set time aside to solely focus on reading. With podcasts you can listen to them whenever and wherever you want, and still take away helpful vegan information.

These are great tips! I think throwing out food rules is so important, especially when you compare to the standard diet where the majority of main meals are based around the meat. It’s a fun way to play around when you don’t have too many boundaries too!
